The Old Smithy Inn
This Hidden gem in the rural village of Welcombe is a delightful find for visitors looking for fresh quality pub food in a relaxed comfortable ambience.
Set in the quietest country lanes just a mile from the coast, the gardens are a delight on sunny days and when the weather closes in the fires are lit in the convivial traditional bar.
The menu changes regularly and seasonally using locally sourced produce. Along with traditional favourites such as sausages & mash and fresh fish & chips you may find moules marinere or local game imaginatively prepared. Children are well looked after too with plenty of homemade dishes on their menu.
The village is an ideal place for a day out, the beach with stunning rock formations and waterfall is a hidden delight, the country church with ancient rood screen, font and nearby holy well is well worth a visit. For walkers the coast path and wooded coombes offer some of the most picturesque and quiet paths along the coast.
Welcombe has a shop and post office, and the potter David can be found next door at the pottery with some of his useful and beautiful wares.
