Details

Kingslake is situated in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside, along a private drive and away from noise, traffic and light pollution; one of the few areas in England where the stars can be clearly seen at night.

The comfortable self-catering cottages, sleeping from 2 to 8 people, are set around sheltered water gardens, an oasis of palm trees and exotic shrubs; or overlooking lawns and woodland. All have their own patio or garden area with tables, chairs and barbecues. These well furnished cottages enjoy a tranquil rural atmosphere.

Mown paths meander in front of the timber lodges and round the lakes, through 124 acres of meadows and woodlands where over 40 species of birds have been spotted. The lodges accommodate 4 to 6 people and are set in woodland overlooking the lakes, with verandas or balconies, garden furniture and barbecues. Enjoy the abundance of wildlife and the exclusivity of our 4 coarse fishing lakes in a peaceful, idyllic setting.

Kingslake is a safe environment for children with plenty of space to explore; they can try the 9 hole golf, feed the rabbits and ponies, make sandcastles, play on the swings and climbing frame while the adults relax on the patio and enjoy the sunset. There are a number of children’s activity parks within easy travelling distance to appeal to all ages; cool off at the Splash pool in Bude, paddle or surf at Widemouth Bay; explore Dartmoor on horseback; see the animals at farm parks; the miniature pony centre; the otter sanctuary and many more.

Kingslake is in a central location for easy travelling to many of Devon and Cornwall’s places of interest: nearby thatched villages provide cream teas, good inns and village stores, the pretty market towns of Hatherleigh and Holsworthy are under 15 minutes drive and Bude’s superb sandy beaches and golf are easily reached. Okehampton and Dartmoor are close by or visit the Eden Project for the day. Walk or cycle along the Tarka trail or in the adjoining Cookworthy forest with its many footpaths, bridleways and cycle trails.

Relax and enjoy the country experience at Kingslake.
