The Old Bakery

At The Old Bakery, Georgeham, we offer both a warm and friendly B&B and a self-catering cottage called The Garden Room which sleeps two. The B&B has three twin/double bedrooms, a guest lounge, dining room and kitchen which guests can use. Georgeham is less than 1.5 miles from both Croyde and Putsborough.

The Old Bakery is situated in the delightful village of Georgeham less than 1.5 miles from the world famous beaches of Croyde and Putsborough and 3 miles from Woolacombe.

"The Garden Room" is a really delightful, cosy and well equipped self-catering cottage that can accommodate two people. Located in the middle part of our garden it is nevertheless very private and ideal for both couples and singles.

In the main house we have three bedrooms for B&B guests all with en-suite facilities:

"Putsborough" is a twin room on the first floor with en-suite shower and great views over the garden and village.

"Barricane" is a double, also on the first floor, with a good sized en-suite bathroom and roll top bath.

"Baggy Point" is on the ground floor and has two divan beds which can be arranged as either twins or double. This room also has a sofa bed that can sleep up to two extra people. The en-suite shower has a low profile tray, grab rail and seat making it suitable for people with impaired mobility.

There is a guest lounge and in addition guests can use the kitchen throughout the day once we have finished serving breakfast giving a flexible self catering option. Groups booking all three rooms can opt to fully cater and should contact the owners to discuss.

Road Directions

The Old Bakery is located in the center of Georgeham between the village shop and Kings Arms Pub. Free parking is available in the village car park opposite. 

From the M5 Junction 27 take the A361 North Devon Link Road towards Barnstaple. Stay on the A361 which by-passes Barnstaple following signs to Bude then Ilfracombe as far as Braunton. At the traffic lights in the center of Braunton turn left and follow signs to Georgeham via Croyde, or take the short cut over the hill by continuing through the traffic lights to the far side of town and turn left just beyond the part-time fire station (this road is quite steep and narrow with passing places).

For more scenic options, follow the A39 from Bridgewater via Minehead and Lynton, or come across the center of Exmoor via the B3224/B3223.

Public Transport Directions

Georgeham benefits from an hourly bus service 21A to and from Barnstaple via Croyde and Braunton. It operates everyday except Sundays when the bus only comes as far as Croyde (1.5 miles down the road).

You can reach Barnstaple by train via Exeter or coach via Taunton.
