Docton Mill Gardens and Tea Rooms

The Docton Mill Tea Room in Devon - Perfect for Devon cream teas and local, home made produce

Voted Best Tea Room N.Devon. - Voted Best Cream Teas N.Devon.

Docton Mill Gardens and Tea-Rooms is a family run business and is owned by Lana and John Borrett who have been at Docton for 15 years  The gardens surround the watercourses which form a spine through the gardens being on a site of 9 acres. What makes it even more special is our location being 1500M from the wild Atlantic coast in the truly magical Spekes Valley, which offers a unique microclimate for plants.

The opening of the garden sees some 20,000 narcissi. Variety in planting through the differing areas, bog-garden, woodland garden, waterfall garden, summer garden, herbaceous borders and stream garden give interest right through the gardening season. We encourage people to walk the 1500M to the coast to view the fantastic waterfall at Spekes Mill Mouth and watch it cascading into the Atlantic Ocean. Please bring wellies for the walk.

The award winning tea-rooms which surrounds the garden terrace and Mill House dates back to 1249 and is open daily. Our food is freshly prepared in the granary kitchen, the menu includes home made soups, pasties, seafood salads, freshly filled rolls, homemade cakes and of course our award winning cream teas, served by friendly staff in beautiful surroundings.
