New Inn

The C17th New Inn Hotel is uniquely situated in the heart of picturesque Clovelly.

The C17th New Inn Hotel lies at the heart of picturesque Clovelly, where the only 'traffic sounds' you will hear are footsteps or donkeys' hooves upon the ancient cobbled street.

It is an excellent choice for family holidays, walkers, divers and romantic short breaks. It has 8 ensuite rooms with village views or sea glimpses.  There are also a further 11 rooms in the Hamlyn B&B opposite and guests there can enjoy the facilities of the hotel too.

Rebuilt over 100 years ago in the style of the fabled English designer, William Morris, much of its charm lies in its layout and decor to reflect the Arts and Crafts era.

Charles Dickens stayed at the New Inn in 1860, and wrote about Clovelly in his magazine ‘All the Year Round’, giving it the name of “Steepways”.
