Local photographer, Kevin Nicholson from Braunton wins first prize in the Spirit of Leader category at a European Network for Rural Development ceremony in Brussels on Monday. His photo of Nethercott Apple Press will now be part of a touring exhibition and a book produced with some of the other very high quality photos that were submitted.

The first of two Surf Cycle buses was back in North Devon on Monday afternoon, having undergone a major refit. The buses have been adapted to take water sports equipment and bikes on board. The lower deck has been transformed with racking and the upper deck remains as the seating area and anyone with or without equipment can travel on the bus.
First spring otter

Staff at RHS Garden Rosemoor were this week treated to the year?s first otter sighting. As garden staff arrived on Monday an adult otter was noticed frolicking in the lake in the west of the garden.
