Ilfracombe Maritime Festival

The Sea Ilfracombe Maritime Festival enters its third annual celebration of all things maritime over the first weekend in September and promises an eclectic mix of more than 50 events staged during the three days.

There will be entertainment for young and old scallywags alike. Walk and eat your way around the town with historical guided tours as well as restaurant and gourmet trails, marvel at a re enactment of Napoleon Bonapartes failed attempt to capture Ilfracombe, be enthralled with many street acts and relax at various art exhibitions.

Or, why not try a gig-taster session with the Pilot Gig Club or join in the tug-of-war competitions; explore the coast on cliff top walks or for the really fit have a go at the Sea Ilfracombe Triathlon. For the younger end of the market there will be a Pirate disco/ball, rock pool rambles and a chance to dress up.

The Landmark Theatre will be hosting a ceilidh where you can reel the night away as well as a night with the Kimbers Men as they serve up a storm of harmonious sea shanties or meet up on the MV Oldenburg for your own sing a long with professional acts.....We'll see you there!.
