Your money back if it rains

With rain and floods very much in the news, the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster has launched a “Raincheck Holiday” giving guests free accommodation if it rains all day. 

Antony Brunt the hotel proprietor said
“Here in Dunster we are in a microclimate and often have no rain at all when other places are suffering heavy storms and even floods. At the Yarn Market Hotel we are happy to recompense guests on our Raincheck Holidays for up to 100% of their accommodation costs if it rains in Dunster during the day.”

There is a genuine concern that people will shy away from taking holidays in England for no good reason and this scheme is aimed to give people the confidence to make a booking in the knowledge that if their holiday at the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster is spoilt by rain they will receive a refund of all or part of their accommodation costs.

Thus, if you have booked a 4 night Dinner Bed and Breakfast break for two people in a double room at £75 per person per night (being Accommodation £40, Breakfast £10, and Evening Meal £25) and it rained for one whole day you would receive a total refund of £80. Even a short shower during the day lasting a few minutes would result in a £8 refund.

Dunster is a medieval village on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, there is a Castle at one end of the High Street owned by the National Trust, and plenty of nearby attractions to visit even if it rains. The scenery and wildlife are superb so this is certainly a ‘must visit’ area of England.


How it works

Book a RAINCHECK Holiday by paying in full in advance, bookings must be made at least one month before arrival date, and then when you are in Dunster you can claim refunds for the following amounts for every day it rains:

Up to 2 hours rain – 10% off the daily rate

Up to 4 hours rain – 30% off the daily rate

Up to 6 hours rain – 60% off the daily rate

Over 6 hours rain – 100% off the daily rate.

Rain must be in Dunster Village itself, and between the hours of 10am and 5pm on any day to qualify for the discount.  Each daily claim must be made on the day in question, and any refund will be payable on departure.
