Wedding couple set to have day to remember at Castle Hill

19/03/2012

Andy, a Royal Marine with the Commando Logistic Regiment at Chivenor, won the fairytale wedding package, worth more than £25,000, when local businesses clubbed together to give a deserving member of the Armed Forces a day to truly remember.

Andy, who was nominated by his mum, was severely injured during his first posting to Afghanistan and it took the best part of a year to recover. He is due to go back next year.

The idea for the dream wedding came from Kieron Freeburn and Peter Kelly of Classic Carriages, Holsworthy, who started the ball rolling by donating luxury wedding transport. The idea rapidly snowballed as other firms came on board to show their appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice made by our troops.

Andy and Karly will be getting married in the Red Room at Castle Hill at 11am. A champagne reception will follow and then they will sit down to a wedding breakfast at 1pm in the West Wing. Well-wishers are being invited to share their big day at 3pm when there will be a bird of prey display, depending on the weather.
