Walk Burgundy ChapelWalk Burgundy Chapel

Through the woods to a ruined mediaeval chapel: an adventurous walk for the intrepid walker, featuring a narrow path stony which climbs steeply uphill beyond the chapel. Not for the faint-hearted!

The Burgundy Chapel was a medieval chapel formerly belonging to the Luttrell family of Dunster Castle. Little is known of the chapel's origins, but it has been suggested that it was built in thanksgiving for a Luttrell's safe return from the Burgundian Wars later in the 15th century.

Terrain:
Paths, tracks, woodland footpaths, some ascent and descent, including one very steep path. Don't be tempted to reverse the route: downhill this path is a nightmare
