Calvert Trust Exmoor is accredited against the National Accessible Scheme as being suitable for older and less mobile guests, part-time wheelchair users, independent wheelchair users, assisted wheelchair users, visually impaired guests and hearing impaired guests. A break at CTE includes a structured programme of exciting activities tailored to the specific needs of our visitors, specifically designed and equipped to cater for all. Activities on offer include climbing, archery, horse riding, wheelchair abseiling, carriage driving, sailing, accessible cycling and many others.
Other facilities on site included a fully accessible hydrotherapy swimming pool with high needs changing facilities, a Jacuzzi, children’s play area, games room, bar, sensory room and the Acland room, which is a fully glazed, elevated, communal area with fantastic views to the south west across Wistlandpound Reservoir, down the valley of the river Yeo and into South Devon.
The centre’s fully accessible accommodation consists of ensuite single, twin and triple bedrooms including some with H-track ceiling hoists, as well as a number of apartments with open plan kitchen and living space, which can be booked on either a self catered or fully inclusive basis. CTE also offers mobile hoists, shower chairs, electric beds, trembler pads, and other loan equipment to make your stay more comfortable regardless of your disability.

Travelling by Car
Leave the M5 at Junction 27, turn on to the A361 to Barnstaple. Follow the A361 for 25 miles. At North Aller Roundabout take the third exit onto the A399. This will be signposted to Blackmoor Gate, Brayford & Lynton. (There is a restaurant just after the first exit on the roundabout). Follow the A399 for 11 miles. When you pass Exmoor Zoo on your left you know that you are a mile or so away. Take a left turn (just after a parking layby on the left). This is signposted Calvert Trust Exmoor and Wistlandpound Reservoir. Follow this road for approx. ½ a mile. Calvert Trust Exmoor is on your left.
The centre is at Grid Ref SS644 423, OS Landranger No 180.

Travelling by Bus
The closest bus stop to Calvert Trust Exmoor is at Blackmoor Gate, serviced by the 309 & 310 bus routes which run between Lynton and Barnstaple. Blackmoor Gate is approximately ½ a mile from the centre and the roads do not have pavements. We are happy to arrange collection and drop off for our guests from Blackmoor Gate bus stop, please arrange this service at the time of making your booking.
Travelling by Train
Barnstaple is our nearest station. We are happy to arrange collection and drop off for our guests with a local, accessible, taxi firm from either Barnstaple (BNP) or Tiverton Parkway (TVP) stations. Please arrange this service at the time of making your booking.
