Stella Levy and Julie Gavin are the owners and instigators of White Moose, overseeing the conversion of the community hall a few years ago into a vibrant, contemporary art space for Barnstaple. They organise Art tours by arrangement but also host artist-led workshops, portrait sessions, projects, artist talks and residencies and many other art-focused events in the gallery.
White Moose are the organisers of Art Trek Open Studios, a well-established annual event which supports local artists and takes place across North Devon, Torridge and West Exmoor. Details on; www.arttrek.co.uk

Approaching Barnstaple via A3125, cross over the old Long Bridge towards Barnstaple Bus Station on your left, bear right at first roundabout, taking you to Belle Meadow car park entrance on your left. White Moose is located two minutes walk from the car park's rear pedestrian exit.

Public Transport Directions
North Devon is served by the Tarka Line from Exeter St David's to Barnstaple. The alternative train route is via stopping at Tiverton Parkway and traveling the remainder of the journey by coach, bus or taxi.
White Moose is approximately an 8 min walk from the train station to the gallery. Cross over the old Long Bridge across the River Taw and head towards the bus station. Look for Lumination lighting shop on the corner of Trinity Street and fifty yards along the street you will see White Moose written on a grey building on the corner of Higher Church Street.
White Moose gallery is situated close to Barnstaple bus station. Exit onto Belle Meadow Road. Cross by the traffic lights, passing Lumination lighting shop on the corner of Trinity Street, fifty yards down Trinity Street you will see the gallery, a grey building on the corner of Higher Church Street.

White Moose is very accessible from the Tarka Trail (a cycle and walking route), which runs alongside the River Taw. Routes from Braunton, Fremington and Barnstaple pass through the town centre with places to lock your bike on the town square and outside the Bike Shed Cafe on the corner of Litchdon Street.
White Moose in Trinity Street is easily accessed from the town centre and is approximately a five-ten minute walk, all on the flat. The gallery is close to the Tarka Trail walking route.
