Barometer World

Just why do some people  'tap' their barometer?  Should you hang a barometer on an outside wall? What did Admiral FitzRoy have to do with barometers and weather forecasting? Can leeches actually forecast weather? These and other such mysteries can be answered at Barometer World.

Philip Collins started his World of Barometers back in the 80's he is famous in barometer circles for his skill and knowledge about that ever British piece of furniture 'The Barometer' He is also author of 5 books on barometers, has appeared on National (recently mentioned on HIGNFU) and local TV and entertains groups with his talks on barometers and related subjects. Whilst we make a small charge for our exhibition the showroom is free to look around (appoints sensible) Regrettably our specialist workshops are not open to the public.

If you do not have one of these instruments at your home then nowhere could be better to consider investing in one, the selection and advise not bettered elsewhere. They make lasting and useful presents, for weddings, retirements, anniversaries, and birthdays, something to treasure. Prices from around £60 to several £1000's for a fine antique model. Opening hours can vary so we strongly suggest you call us before travelling here specially, our hours and days vary between Tuesdays to Fridays. Appointments necessary for any repairs as items not accepted unless discussed in advance.
