The historic village of Clovelly is well worth a visit, the Milky Way and Big Sheep for children.  Many visitors venture into Cornwall to the Eden Project, Rick Steins in Padstow, Jamie Oliver’s, Watergate Bay, Port Isaac for Doc Martin fans is extremely popular.  Close to the Moors and many beaches.

An ideal base to explore Devon/Cornwall.

Road Directions

Turn off the A39, sign posted Welcombe Cross, and drive 2.5 miles down country lanes.  Follow signs to Old Smithy Inn ONLY.  The Bungalows are located at the rear of the thatched Inn. Allocated parking for Hollyhocks is no 1. 

Do not follow any signs to the Church or Beach.

Welcombe is a rural Devon village and there is no public transport. There is a good local taxi service operating from Bude.
